Tisman’s, Exfoldwood and Greenhurst Commons
The present-day dispersed hamlet in the west of the parish of Rudgwick has a unique history and geography of settlement, enclosure of open land over many centuries, gentrification of some farms and development of horticultural activities. The late Alan Siney was the first to study the area. We have tried to build on that from documents such as manorial records, house histories, property deeds and the tithe map schedule.
